Buren 481
Iterum builds new watches from vintage mechanical watch movements. This watch using a Buren 481 movement is available for purchase.
The Buren Watch Company was created in 1899 when the English company H. Williamson, Ltd. purchased Fritz Suter & Cie. The Hamilton Watch Company bought Buren in 1966. Within a few years Hamilton moved all of its production to the Buren factory in Switzerland and halted manufacturing in the US. In 1971 Hamilton was bought by SSIH (Swatch) and in 1972 all Buren assets were sold off.
The minute and hour hands on this watch are vintage. They were stripped, cleaned, painted and new luminous paint was applied. The second hand is new.
